Drama Matchbox diary by-Harley

As I try to sleep
there are people coughing, sneezing and snoring. It's disturbing. The sound that stands out the most is the clock tik tok tik tok. It's really cold. My stomach is growling telling me I'm hungry. Peoples' body odour makes my nose scrunch. I look down and I see my matchbox, my reminder of home.

Skimming rocks at the beach

My memories bring me back to the beach. There was a lot of people. Some people swimming some people playing volleyball. I could hear the seagulls singing and the ocean smashing against the sand. Woosh! Woosh! I got bored so I started skimming rocks. 

The rocks felt smooth like they had been flattened. I smelt the salty ocean and the hot dogs. They made my mouth water and I asked my mum if I could get one. I was so desperate and luckily she said yes. I took a bite and it was so nice it felt like there was a party in my brain.

Kia-ora, oku hoa My name is Harley. I am 11 years old and I speak Maori. I live in Auckland. I’m in year 8 at Saint Patricks school and my teachers name is Ms George, she's a great teacher. My favourite subject is maths, I really like algebra. My favourite thing to do  at home is play games, like Fortnite, Roblox, Call of Duty and Forza horizon 4. Sometimes in my spare time I like to go for a bike ride, or go to the pools. I bike ride around the rotary walkway. My goals are to succeed in my writing to have better handwriting and my other goal is to read more often.

Telegrams were used in the great war in 1916. War telegram. In 19th and the first half of the 20th century telegrams were commonly used to send important or urgent news. The military sent telegrams to tell parents of soldiers that their son was missing or had been killed in action.

My first week back at Saint Patricks school 2020

My first week back at Saint Patricks school 2020
On Wednesday I started school. My class is room 8. I think this year will be a bit challenging as I take on the role of being a year 8. This year will my last year atending Saint Patricks. On the first day of school my favourite part was drawing our hands on a pieces of paper then making all kinds of swerly doodles.

On Thursday we worked more on our hands and then went to lunch we played soccer for our whole break. Then the bell rang and we went back into class. My whole class went out to play a game on the grass to play.No one wanted to play so some of us played volleyball and the others played kicks with the ball. When it was time to go home we went back to class packed up then grabbed our bags. We said a quick prayer then went home.

My first week at saint Patricks school was fun.
